Long Beach

Alert to boaters:

  1. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA – LOS ANGELES – CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS – Manson Construction will be conducting construction operations in the vicinity of the south side of the Pier 400 in the Port of Los Angeles 24 hours a day, through Mar 2005. Seven lighted danger buoys are marking the area. The area inside the buoy perimeter is being filled up to –15 ft and some areas inside the perimeter to –10 ft. A visual representation of the construction is depicted in Enclosure (1) in this publication. Mariners requiring 8 ft or greater navigational draft must remain clear of this area. Several vessels will be on scene monitoring VHF-FM Ch. 13, 16, 66, and 79A. For further comments or details, contact John Molvar at (562) 432-6918. Chart: 18751 LNM 12/03 dated 25 Mar 2003.

  2. Pier 400 has been added to the Los Angeles Harbor! This will not be found on older charts and caution must be taken.
  3. Due West of the Shoreline Marina there is a shallow water area. This area is clearly marked by small unlit CAN BUOYS -caution must be taken. ~ Just North of the Queen Mary.
  4. For your safety please, use caution in the COMMERCIAL NAVIGATION CHANNELS AT THE OPENINGS TO LONG BEACH AND LOS ANGELES BREAKWATERS!
