Corporate Sailing Regattas offer your company an opportunity to discover new ways for employees to work together in a fun and competitive environment. Sailboat racing has proven to be an ideal activity to draw on team skills, model team behavior, and bring your team together like never before. In a quick-paced atmosphere, your employees will be energized to develop new work skills, experience the excitement of coordinated work effort, and enjoy an on-thewater adventure they will never forget.

On board each boat, a Marina Sailing skipper will preview and describe the various yacht racing tasks that will take place during the race. These tasks include the job of helmsman, tactician, mainsail trimmer, port and starboard sail trimmers, navigator, and team leader. The team will then determine who will be assigned to each task. After a brief training, all will be put to the test of winning a sailboat race!

Sailing and the Race

Established in 1962, Marina Sailing is Southern California’s oldest and largest sailboat charter and sailing instruction organization. We provide Corporate Regattas from all six convenient locations including Marina del Rey, Long Beach, Redondo Beach, Channel Islands, Newport Beach and San Diego. Marina Sailing’s fleet of over 70 race-ready yachts range in size from 22 to over 50 feet and are equipped with the latest sailing equipment on the market.

We use the “staggered start” method of racing where the smaller boats start before the larger and faster boats, and all are “handicapped” according to size and design. This method gives all boats an equal chance of being the first over the finish line.

Our Corporate Regattas Include:

  • Skipper for each boat
  • Instruction and safety briefing for each crew member
  • Race Course design and yacht handicapping
  • Beverages on board each yacht
  • Trophies engraved with event name for each crew member on the winning yacht
  • NEW! Team building exercises during the race for fun, learning, and increasing teamwork

Rates

Weekday: $600 per boat

Saturday, Sunday, or Holiday $700 per boat

(6 team members per boat, 3-4 hour race time)
